Anyone can become an advocate! The IMF group helps guide individuals to advocate for critical health issues that affect the myeloma community. "Shortly after I completed tandem stem cell transplants, I got involved in the IMF led coalition to get the Oral Drug Parity Bill passed in Wisconsin. I started with getting people to sign postcards urging passage of the bill. Later, I helped deliver those postcards to state legislators and attended hearings. It was amazing to meet others from all over the state and hear their stories. The bill passed and went into effect in January 2014. Now I’m working with IMF Advocacy to get the federal oral drug parity bills passed. I’m keeping my promise."
